HSP 103 | Module 3 Lesson 1 Laboratory - Family Systems Approach

Learning Artifact

This image represents my notes and preparation for the laboratory activity in Module 3, where we explored different perspectives and reflections related to helping practices and interpersonal dynamics.

Critical Reflection

This laboratory activity allowed me to reflect on how personal experiences and relationships can influence how individuals think, behave, and interact with others. Through the preparation and discussion of different situations, I became more aware that people's challenges are often connected to patterns within their relationships and environments. This perspective helped me understand the importance of looking beyond a single issue and considering the broader context of a person’s life.

The lesson also encouraged me to observe communication patterns, boundaries, and emotional responses within relationships. Reflecting on these ideas made me realize that helping professionals need to be patient and thoughtful when analyzing situations. Instead of immediately focusing on solutions, it is important to first understand the underlying dynamics that may influence a person’s behavior or feelings.

Overall, this activity helped me appreciate how complex interpersonal relationships can be and how important it is for helpers to approach situations with openness, empathy, and careful observation.

Connection to Professional Practice

As a future human services professional, this lesson reminded me that understanding a person’s experiences often requires looking at their relationships and environment. Developing this perspective will help me provide more thoughtful and holistic support to clients.
