A Chill Afternoon at CHERC: Art and History in Harmony

           As part of our Readings in Philippine History subject, we visited the Cultural Heritage and Educational Research Center, and it was my first time stepping inside. The task was simple yet meaningful: choose a painting and analyze it. But what made the experience special was the calm and inspiring atmosphere we walked into.           The room was filled with various artworks, each with its own story and emotion. It was a chill afternoon spent quietly admiring the pieces, discussing them with classmates, and appreciating the creativity behind every brushstroke. Mental Health Talk

           The Mental Health Talk was a mentally stimulating and eye-opening event that I truly enjoyed as a Human Services student. It deepened my interest and understanding of mental health, and I gained so much valuable information that I can carry with me both personally and professionally.           One of my favorite parts was the Q&A portion, where we got the chance to exchange thoughts and ask questions. Hearing insights from Dr. Von de Veza, a psychiatrist, was truly inspiring and helped me see the real-world impact of mental health advocacy and professional support.           It was an event that not only informed but also encouraged us to be more open, empathetic, and active in promoting mental wellness, something I’m passionate about as I pursue my journey in the helping profession.
