Campus Tour

          While browsing through some old photos, I came across pictures from our campus tour. I remember that day clearly; I was shy, unsure of what to expect, and still adjusting to this new chapter of my life. Everything felt unfamiliar back then.

          Looking back now, I realize how much has changed. Things are slowly unfolding, and I’m beginning to find my place. Choosing this course and studying at ISAT U has been a journey of growth, and seeing those early moments reminds me of how far I’ve come. What once felt uncertain is now turning into something meaningful.

     T hese past three weeks of orientation have been eye-opening for me as a new Human Services student. Each session brought valuable insights that helped me understand the journey I'm embarking on. Learning Artifact This photo represents our counseling roleplay where we applied different human services lenses in responding to the client. Critical Reflection In this activity, I took on the role of a counselor and applied appropriate helping skills in responding to the client, Jared, who was experiencing work-related stress. This allowed me to practice how to start a session, ask questions, and respond in a supportive and professional manner. I learned the importance of building rapport, actively listening, and using empathy throughout the session. Applying the lenses helped guide my responses, especially in understanding the client’s emotions, environment, and needs. I also realized that being a counselor is not about giving advice, but about helping the client feel heard and empowered. HSP 103 | Module 2: Systems & Multicausality

  Learning Artifact  This image represents the idea of multicausality and systems thinking. It reflects how different factors and perspectives are interconnected, which was a key concept in Module 2 and was practiced through the simulation activity and the Wadhwani Interpersonal Skills course. Reflection Module 2 helped me understand that problems in human services rarely have only one cause. Through systems and multicausality, I learned that issues such as mental health struggles, family conflict, or school difficulties are influenced by multiple factors that interact with each other. This perspective made me realize that helping someone means looking beyond surface-level problems and understanding the broader context of their situation.
