Three Weeks In
Today marks the end of my third week in college, and things are slowly sinking in. Being in college is really different from high school, and I'm still in the process of adjusting, but I know things will get easier for me soon. Right now, I'm still getting to know my classmates and socializing with them. I'm careful about managing my energy, making sure to protect myself from being drained while still being genuine in my interactions.
Being a Helicon (a Human Services student) so far feels right for me. After being introduced to my subjects, especially my majors, I felt relieved because I can tell that I'm going to love this journey. I'm excited to learn more and gain deeper knowledge about helping others. The classes are interesting, and even though some topics are challenging, they make me more curious about what's ahead.
So far, I'm enjoying my college experience and learning to maintain balance in my life. I'm trying not to pressure myself too much, taking things one day at a time. I understand that my journey in Human Services is just beginning and there's still a long way to go, but I'm choosing to enjoy the present moment and do what I can each day.
I believe this mindset will help me grow not just as a student, but also as a future Human Services professional. While adjusting to college life has its challenges, I'm grateful for this opportunity to study something I'm passionate about. I look forward to the experiences, learnings, and connections I'll make along the way.
